Detectives are working closely with the State Attorney’s Office, the sheriff’s office said.
“But they still have to get a warrant on him from a judge,” sheriff’s spokeswoman Trisha Kukuvka said.
Harrouff is expected to face aggravated battery charges on a Good Samaritan, in addition to murder charges.
The Florida State University sophomore is in stable condition at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Kukuvka said, and was conscious. He is unable to speak, though, because of a breathing tube.
